Bhunni hui moong ki daal
1 Cup Moong Daal
1/2 cup Ghee
3-4 tbsp Water or as required
1-1 1/2 Glass of water for daal cooking
1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Coriander Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Salt or as per taste
8-10 Black Peppercorns
2 Green Chillies (sliced)
1/2 tsp White Cumin Seeds
At least soak the daal for an hour. In a cooking pot, pour ghee and heat it for a bit, but not too much. Then, add black peppercorns. Crackle them a bit. In a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and water. Mix these well. Pour the mixture in the cooking pot and cook till the ghee separates. Then add daal. Mix it well. Add water. Cover it with a lid. Then cook it till the water dries. Then, when the daal is well done, it is ready for serving.
